Wind of change

3 months later.....a lot of time, bearing in mind that my experience is ending soon:4months left and I'm pretty sure time will fly!well I finally decided to move to Sydneyto spend the New year's eve, staying a couple of weeks and...we'll see what to do afterwards.

I probably needed a point of reference to decide what to do and the end of the year is actually a good one, i've stuck in the routine after 8 months doing pretty much the same stuff and i probably loved melbourne too much to leave it.

I usually don't do this but...i've been in total 4 times to Phillip island and 3 times to Great ocean road.
Don't get me wrong, i love those places but Australia is such a huge country that doing twice,or more, the same thing would be a sort of waste of time. But it was for a good reason, take some good friends to stunning places...

Tamania 2

Guess what?! i've been to Tasmania again!but this time was for vacation...
I went there with Roy,we've been hosted by his boss.Such a nice person...how many times can you be hosted by a big manager in his place, have a private bedroom, wake up in the morning by yourself in the house, can prepare the breakfast, grab his car and drive around Tasmania?!
Not many times isn't it?
He even gave us his member card for the Qantas lounge!we were ready to drnk beers and have lunch waiting for the flight...but they didn't allow us to get in....on the contrary they though we stole the card!
Anyway, his boss is definitely one of those persons who will be in your mind for a lot of time and for sure one of those who gives a remarkable souvenir of the place.

Tasman bridge

We travelled to Port Arthur to visit the famous jail, stepping into the places where convicts (even kids from 8 years old) actually lived. Every place has its history, something to tell us,something to learn from....and stay there and hear the stories gave me a strange feeling...it's not actually a place that you can simply admire, like a good scenario of the nature's wonders...it's something that impress your mind before impressing your eyes.
After that we spend some time at the oldest bridge in Australia, the Richmond bridge. Quite disappointing since it's not even 2 hundred years old!
no wonder, cause you can't really wxpect to find something historic in Australia,it's good especially for wah tthe nature can offer.

Rests of Port Arthur

Apart from the weather we had a good time in Tasmania,i actually had to reach the top of the Wellington mountain three times to have a proper vision of the scenario, and to go there the third time i actually had to...miss my flight!
We had a big saturday night and the flight scheduled at 6AM didn't help at all...both me and Roy we miss it and the funny thing is till the late afternoon we both though the other coped! I directly woke up at 7.30AM and when i saw the lights coming into the bedroom i knew it couldn't be 4.30AM,the time my alarm was set...
Roy woke up ten minutes before the flight and he caught the cab hoping the flight was delayed..but it wasn't...

I stayed one more day in Hobart, but i turn my bad day,due to the missed flight into a nice one, knowing new people,i still in touch with some of them, like Nicola, the carciofo man...lol
He was spending his last 2 weeks in Australia before going back home,I showed hom the GOR and phillip island...and his happyness defintely paid off the effort to go there again.I've been glad to see him leaving saying "the best holiday ever, for the places i've seen and the people i met".

brand new

Here we go!
been too busy and too lazy, probably more lazy, to update my blog...lol so...it's 4 months and half, time flies!

Anyway,Mauro and Peter have left the apartment,Mauro is traveling along the east coast and I envie him!!!!but sooner or later i'll be there as well!Peter has moved to an Uni apartment,he's gonna have fun with guys there.
At their place there are a 40 years old man from Palestine, one Ethiopian-Aussie guy, plus an indian who replaced John. We're From 5 different continents!!!!how cool is that?!
I kind of miss my old roomies,Mauro will be back in 5 weeks anyway,so now i'm longest living here,I make the rules! XD
Personal hairdresser

Karaoke day!!!

I like more and more this city, that's why I decided to postpone my flight back, wanna enjoy my hole year here! There so many things to do,you just have to look for them...

Last week I celebrated the fool moon festival eating in a chinese restaurant and having a mooncake for dessert...it's the second biggest event in China after the new year's day,so the city was plenty of events.

Yesterday I spent the day at the Vibes festival,a sort of Fete de la music that i experienced in Lille in France:a hole way closed to the traffic, bars with dj's and bands playing music and people walking in the street...gorgeous!

The hottest food ever!!!!!

The opening of the Olympica games was really cool...i watched in Federation Square and the most amazing thing that reflects Melbourne's spirit wast that for the teams parade you could find a group of supporters almost for each country partecipating the Olympic Games!!!!

Bye bye Canada

Yeah, also John, our second Canadian housemate after Marie Claude, has left, after 2 months together. It's weird to say goodbye to people you have lived with for so long, but once you travel there's nothing left to do but get used of it...

Let's see who will be the next housemate...another Canadian?! lol

I'm realizing more and more how easy it's this city:on saturday I was catching the train to Footscray market, with a friend of mine, I was looking the map at the train station and a man came to me asking"Where re you going?" I replied "Footscray" and he simply said "come with me"...so we started talking for all the travel long,he 's from Croatia but he has been living here for 50 years and he's currently part of a church...

At the Footscray market you can find pretty much everything you need to feed yourself with asian food.It seemed to me to go back to last year when i was in Vietnam!the market was plenty of vietnamese people and I was surrounded by their voices and speeches...incredible!!!!

PS i even found the durian,as you can see in the pic below.lol

Noodle box, like in the american movies!!!And the juicy thing is that you can prepare your own personal dish on the computer, you get a receipt and then they prepare what you have just created!

The Ripcurl's headquarter, this is where it's been found, in Torquay.

Basically Mauro and I left on wednesday to Torquay for my first surf lesson!Yeah,it's August, that means winter here in OZ,but I'm eager to surf!Unfortunately it was a sunny and gorgeus day,so no wind and no surfable waves....So i had to postpone my date with Ms. Surf! lol

Am I come back dans le nord de la France?!Moules et frites ici aussi?! Good name for a liquor store...isn't it?!

the manhood...

It's been a while, i haven't updated this stuff for a month...Fortunately it has been a busy one, with many things to do...
well I always thought that I had to settle here before enjoying completely the life.I kind of do it or on my way to do it....after 3 weeks seeking for a job via internet and employment agencies i realized that i'm here to enjoy my stay and i can't afford to loose time so i simply decided to earn money!so i'm currently working in 3 places: a sushi bar some week ends,in a shop under my place (it's really downstairs, the door beside mine!!!!)so i can wake up 10 min before starting!!!lol and as Italian teacher (yeah i'm a kind of teacher with my own students!!!!!) and coordinator.

It takes me much time, but i'm proud and glad of the experience that i'm gettin' in 3 different fields...

This is my first footy match at MCG,the Aussie's biggest stadium!I'm getting interesting in this sport, but only when i watch the match at the stadium

And eventually i touch a kangarou!well let's say stroken, fed, ridden and....eaten!not this one in the pic below but kangarou meat....so tender!

Hey!I'm back in Melbourne after one week in Tassie land! And guess what...I traveled as another person, yeah I was Carmelo Siciliano as you can see in the pic (yeah the photo in the badge it's me)! In the beginning that fly was booked for another person,a girl, that's why I used that name....cool!

Tasmania is a really easy country, easy people and nature and hills...quite similar to Colli Euganei hihi

I was there with Karla,Kellie,2 coworkers of mine and 2 guys from Sydney...We lived in a kind of bungalow,it seemed to be in summer vacation!
the old man in the pic was the manager of the bungalows, really lovely and kind person,he used to leave us a bottle of milk in front of the door wvery morning and....a bottle of wine in the evening.lol

Anyway we worked all the week, celebrating just the friday night...but it was juicy!(I also threw up....but i wasn't the only one!)
for the rest I got a great first day with good sales but not during the rest of the week...so I finally decided to resign and i'm a job hunter again!!!!

1/6/08

Tazzie Tazzie Tazzie!!!!

Van Diemen's land....is a U2's song and the way European used to call Tasmania, the first penal colony in Australia.

When am I talking about Tazzie?Cause I'm going there the next week with my job team!

That means that I'm still working for them...yeah in fact this will be the third week,I had the opportunity to visit many places close to Melbourne and the landscapes are always amazing!

Sincerely I haven't got many sales last week, not as musch as I expected but I won 100$ during the Friday morning games in the office...We use to play a game on Friday before working, the aim is to motivate people, improve the team collaboration. The game was musical chair,do you remember when you were children?Exactly, the same game but with 20s 30s 40s and 50s years old people!

Yesterday we have been to Phillip Island (or Penguin Island if you prefer...hihi)to see the...Penguin Parade! actually every evening around 5.30 pm these small cute penguin step out from the sea to go through the beach to sleep...They're so cute, since they're the smallest penguin species, they go in and out the sea before moving towards their beds!

Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pics, but maybe i can show you a video soon...

On Friday Juventus was here in Melbourne for its asian tour and they played at the Telstra Dome, 200m far from my place!

Docklands was really full of supporters and the most amazing thing was that I watched the match in my place on Fox Television, while they where playing just beside me!

Anyway...I've been staying here for 1 month! It's been really really quick and I feel that I have to live every single moment in the best way I can...
