Working 14 hours a day

G'day mates!well,maybe it's better good night...
I wanna tell you 'bout the last week...
As you maybe know i started a job in a Thai restaurant (actually only the waitress are Thai,the owner,the chefs and all the other people are Vietnamese!). I'm a kitchenhand,Iprepare the dishes with all the ingredients before the chef cook them and I coordinate the sous chef.Interesting,isn't it? Actually it's less than what it seems...I'm not well paied,actually i earn half of a normal waitress here...and i speak only vietnamese....but it was the only place that wanted to hire me...so the only way to make money!:-)

Meanwhile I went on with my research and yesterday i made an interview with a marketing and sales company...I 've been there also today for the second interview and for the evaluation day...
Basically after 1 hour of "class" they picked me up in a car and we started a direct marketing campaign,stopping in all the industries and trying to find someone interested in buy something or make a donation for something....
Actually it's so weird,I have never tried to sell anything in Italy,and i'm trying to do it now,in English!

During the day i also tried to convince a potential customer speaking!
At the end of the day i had an interview with a manager and the fially decided to call me for a training week,to see if i'm suited for this job...crossing finger ( I mean,it's not really my stuff,but I can learn many things....)

After this (from 8.30 ti 17.00) i ran to the Thai Restuaurant to start my old job (from 17.30 to 23)!
Anyway...the reason why I haven't applied in an Italian restaurant was to avoid to speak italian and...with this job as kitchenhand I spoke vietnamese...
So that's why I'm trying this new experience as a seller,even if i know that it is not my stuff and that it would be hard also in Italian!
But it's good for my English and to work with some Aussies....so,let's start this new challenge!

job seeking

well I arrived in Melbourne on friday so almost one week ago... After the week end i started looking for a job,yep something to afford my stay here in Aussie! I knew since the beginning that find something related to my studies wouldn't have been easy and in fact i left my resumes to sushi bars and retail shops lol.

I'm waiting for someone for calling me, i feel like i'm wasting my time here doing nothing...I mean there are several things to do here in Melbourne but...as Beate said "do your duty first and then enjoy yourself, that's the german mind". Oh my god,am i becoming a german?! hihi No, it's just that I don't wanna act as a visitor,not now.... I've had my first official interview this morning in a language school.

This is the story: yesterday while i was waiting to cath the tram to go back home i saw this school at the corner of the street so i thought "why not try there?!" and so I did. I have to recognize that Australian are really polite and kind,the secretary welcomed me with a great smile!she asked about me and i told her"actually i'm looking for an English course,but at the same time i look for a job...".She replied"Your english is very good!on the other hand we don't need an italian teacher now...anyway I make you an appointment with the coordinator tomorrow".

So I talked with the coordinator,a lady with german origin who explained me the courses of the school...She told me "your english is very good" as well and she was well surprised that I know three other languages Really funny,she said :"Here In Australia if you know 3 words you're beginner,if you know 4 words you're intermediate and if you know 5 words you're advanced, since Aussies speak only English! lol Anyway while she was talking i thought "ok,stop compliment with me and give me a fucking job!"


And finally here's the point:as Roy,the scottish guy that we met during the ocean road trip, told me, it's hard to be hired with an working holyday visa...they ask for a permanent one... However she told me she would have kept my resume if things change....

I won't lie to you,one of the main reason made me choose Melbourne was knowing someone who lives here.

After the 2 weeks hostel in Lille I really wanted to find as soon as possible an appartment in order top avoid money and time waste. Honestly I couldn't find a better mate than Mauro...He found me a place in the same appartment where he lives with an Quebeçoise girl and a Chinese guy.

Furhermore before my arrival he already searched for me a restaurant where to work,yesterday he brought me a pizza from the italian restaurant where he works as cooker....

Anyway we live in Docklands a cool quarter behind the City,we can reach Melbourne's downtown in 15 minutes by foot.

The appartment is new, as most of Melbourne's buildings, there's everything inside:dishwaher, clothes dryer, eMac,2 televisions with Fox channel (that means Simpson for several hours!),Playstation 3,wireless and on the roof an open swimming pool with water massage, gym (Antonio,you can take my stuffs now ! lol) and sauna!Amazing!!!

Now i just have to find a job to afford all these things....hihi

Un voyage vers...

Here again...at the airport...this time it's for a long trip.
I don't have a travel mate who travels with me, as Marianna was for the France time but Mauro is waiting for me in Melbourne.
It's never easy it leave mainly when you have to say goodbye to your family, but i know that i'll be better after arriving,the same thing happened when i left France to go to Vietnam.

emirates is really "amazing", as Sameer said, for the comfort, the services and i had the opportunity to stay for 1 night in Dubai. there's a strong impact to see a strong contrast between the desert, where Dubai is located, and the beautiful garden and trees that you find here.

In Aussie
I arrived at 5.30 am and i suddenly had some problems with the immigration,apparently becasue my digital passport didn't properly...but after this....I am in Australia!

This time a have a place where to go and where to stay,Mauro found a place in his apartment for me and right the day I arrived I start with him and a friend of him a 3 days tour along the Great Ocean Road,with a rented car.

amazing landscapes that leave you breathless...hills at your right,sea at your left and always surrounded by the nature!

It was really a cool way to start my Aussie experience with these and i drove too,with a left hand and automatic car!

We slept in the backpackers and we found a group of scottish people with which we celebrated in local bars and pubs, in one of this i took a souvenir as you see in this snap.

That was a Champion's league night so as real European we woke up at 4.30 AM (thanks jet lag!!) after 2 hours sleeping. When I entered in the lounge of the backpackers i found an amazing scene:one of the scottish guy (actually a soldier engaged in Afganistan for the British army) with a cold pizza as a breakfast!

Yeah,this is really OZ!
